What is going on?

What are cardiovascular diseases?

Cardiovascular diseases are the degenerative diseases of the heart and circulatory system, such as coronary heart disease and stroke.
Atherosclerosis is the main process that leads to cardiovascular disease.

By 2030, almost 23.6 million people will die from cardiovascular diseases.

WHO estimates that more than 17.3 million people died of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack or stroke in 2008. Contrary to popular belief, four out of five of these deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries, and men and women were equally affected.

The good news, however, is that 80% of premature heart attacks and strokes are preventable. Healthy diet, regular physical activity, and not using tobacco products are the keys to prevention.
Cardiovascular disease remains the number 1 killer in Malaysia.
-Hypertension is topping the list of cardiovascular diseases.

-20.7% of adults over 18 suffering from high cholesterol.
-One in four women dies of heart attacks and strokes in the country and the trend has remained unchanged for the last 10 years, and more women die from heart attacks than strokes
